Four Roses Single Barrel
Alright! Welcome! Thank you for finding your way here to our first review.
As I’ve already admitted, I’m not the most accomplished or refined critic. So, I’m going to try to keep these digestible. Bearable, even.
Diving in, Four Roses Single Barrel offers a rich and complex flavor profile that is not to be overlooked just because it’s easy to find. It starts floral on the nose (roses, maybe?) and exciting on the palate. There’s notes of cork or oak, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, hefty rye spiciness (35% rye in the mash), and a lengthy finish. While I wouldn’t call it smooth per se, there’s nothing astringent about it. It’s a well-crafted, mostly inoffensive bourbon that is sure to please aficionados and newcomers alike.
This one is common, and a delight for something so easy to find. You should be able to grab it at almost any respectable retailer, but you probably shouldn’t pay more than $50 for it. Here’s the cheapest shipper I could locate:
Don’t forget to see where it falls on THE LIST.
